Good news is that I'm working again. While I was out of a job, I converted from H1 to EAD under my previous employer (consultancy).
Now, I've finally found a job although this is a full time opportunity. I'm going to be using my EAD / AC21 .
Question: Since I'm no longer working for my previous employer, they are going to be revoking my I140 next month. I believe this is not a problem since my case has been pending for more than 180 days so that's a good thing.. What I do want to know is whether my status is in any jeopardy since I haven't generated any income for about 3 months?
Thanks for any replies. I really need to find out the answer to this. A lot of forum info suggests that I'm ok but I'd very much like to hear any / all viewpoints on this issue.

After a long 5 years I finally received 485 case approved letter for both my case and my spouse's case. However the online status still shows pending. Is this common?. How long would it take for the online case status to be updated.

She did all that a normal F1 student does. Applied for her F1 Visa, parents showed the support documents and all. The Fiance was not mentioned anywhere either in the papers or the interview. She came here as a student and after a few months they got married again according to US laws. Till then they did not disclose their marriage.

Perm.. I was exactly in the same boat as u were but I went ahead and changed the job from company A to company B and got 3 year extension till 10/09. Then I went to India and got the visa stamped till 10/09. My new employer i.e. company B has now started processing my GC again.. Now, let us see if I can port my PD of 12/05 with company B.
My question is if I decide to move again to company C [Not gonna do] or my new employer i.e. company B fires me [U never know] i.e. in case if I do not have labor or 140 done with my new employer i.e. company B and say I ran out of H1B at the end of 10/09, then can I get further 3 year extension with company B or new company C on approved 140 from previous employer i.e. Company A?

Now, based on your reply, it seems like I need to have a few things:
1- a good relationship with my current employer - I work for this huge company, and
even if I have a good relationship with my 1st and 2nd level managers, HR and the Immigration department along with the attorney firm, will do whatever their usual process says...
2- based on what I've read so far, it seems that I need to have copy of the i-485 receipts in order to invoke AC-21? I was not given that by my attorney firm. They keep all the documents, and only send us e-mails of the approvals of each step. They say that since the employer is paying for everything, I don't have the right to have copies of anything.
Do you guys think this would be an issue?
Please advice, and thanks in advance for your comments/help,

I take this as another posiitve.
Paves the way for the smaller bills like the family reunification (visa recapture) to be passed without the chirkuts putting stops citing a CIR is required then voting against the CIR.

First find the SOC code for the Labor based on which your 485 is pending, Then find the SOC code for new job. If they are same or similar you are fine.
Job Title alone does Not decide the SOC code for your job, It is mostly a function of the Job duties.
If your new employer would co-operate, Get a new Job offer letter that has atleast 50% same Job duties so that When USCIS adjudicates your 485, they arrive at same or similar SOC code as your original {in this case substituted labor}. SOC code.
NOTE: I am not an attorney, use the info at your own risk.

Not understanding why can't any Democratic Pro-immigrant Senator reply to these kind of ignorant blaberrings and order USCIS to act as per LAW? How this grassley gets USCIS internal draft memo! need to inverstigate.
there is no need for pro-immigrant senator to respond becoz as soon as they respond..... it will increase the visibility and importance of grassley..... many a times in politics, the purpose of putting out provocative statement is to provoke a response..... to that effect, no response is the best response.... it is better for california director to respond & fight with a sitting senator, which de-values grassley's perceived seniority.....

I think if they did not get the interview already, they will need to wait until the dates become current again. If they have interview scheduled in July, they can go a head and attend the interview and get the GC.
While today's development is great news for folks in the 485/AOS cue, what happens with people in CP? With the opening of the floodgates, I am unsure when visas will be available to CP cases who were scheduled for interviews in Aug and beyond. I am a great supporter of today's victory, but I am unsure where CP cases stand now? Another 4 year wait?

Some in this situation are planning to do the full time MBA from the IIMs / ISB under NRI quota
I am not sure how useful doing an MBA from an Indian school would be if one is planning to get back to the U.S. (or the western world in general) I did mine from IIM Ahmedabad, and find it pretty much worthless here.
