i know one person who had applied for H1 from 2 different employes and both his H1 got approved.. he was coming to US on H1 first time.. he went for visa stamping for one employer and got successfully.. he is in US right now and came before few weeks.. (note that he did have prior H1 and visa stamp but he never came to US on that H1.. he did come to US once but on B1 visa..)

Address is a sensitive issue here in the US. USCIS aims to keep a tab on all aliens and has a rule regarding address changes being notified to the USCIS. They actually can penalize somebody who does not follow this rule.
So giving out a temporary address when you first arrive in the country could be okay but it is not okay once you start your employment/credit history.
Every address you have ever put on your credit card application/where you have received utility bills/received car insurance papers/dmv documents is actually pretty easily traced.
Just try accessing your credit report. It will list out all the addresses you have been in the past few years.
So having your friend's address for correspondence is a little tricky.
I have tried to have a PO box for correspondence with utility companies/credit cards/bank statements but as I understand you cannot provide a PO Box address to USCIS.
If I remember correctly when I went for fingerprinting they actually had a section for physical address and one for mailing address; but for most parts the documents you fill out for USCIS don't allow you the option of filling out separate physical address and mailing address.
Since the potential for being penalized by USCIS exists you should contact your lawyer and try to figure it out.

Online information say Indian passport renewal takes around 10 - 15 days but it is usually done much quicker. I received my passport in less than 2 weeks(7 business days if i remember correctly) from Chicago, offcourse i mailed all documents.

I am also planning.
My case is like this. I applied AOS based on EB3 I140 (PD May 2004). I recenlty got my EB2 I-140 approved with a different labor applied for me. Now, I want to interfile new EB2 I140 with my pending I-485. Does your case similar to mine ? Please let me know and also, how are you planning to do it ?

Scan and send the docs, if your parents have access to email and a printer. See if anybody is traveling to Chennai from San Jose. Send the docs along with them.

What is the fastest and perhaps a little economic way to get documents over to chennai (Tamil Nadu) or Calicut (Kerala) from here in San Jose, ca.
USPS has this service called Express Mail ($27.95) or Priority Mail ($12.95)
I guess USPS is claiming 6-10 days (guess no gurantee) to india.
Other couriers seems to be $70+ (FedEx, UPS, DHL)..
Anyone has had good luck with USPS ? or do you suggest the couriers mentioned above ?
Need to get docs for an interview for parents on Feb 26th in Chennai...

I returned to the US last year after a vacation and while my current visa's expiration date is July 2007 the customs official would only stamp my I-94 & authorize entry until May 2007 when my passport expires. My lawyer has applied for our extension using copies of my passport which is expiring soon but she advised that USCIS would need a copy of the new passport with new expiry date before approving my extension. The lawyer says your passport has to have an expiry date after the date of expiration of your visa extension. I will get a new I-94 with my visa extension btw this extension is the 3 year extension as our I-140 is approved but we have not filed for adj. of status yet. PD 5/03 EB3 ROW

Your wife should NOT have any problems if she is still in her 6 years of her first H1B. My wife had the same case and she got her H1B in 15 days and it was NOT counted against the quota.

HI,
I recently went for stamping in Canada and they did ask me recent paystubs.
I woudl work for the new company , have some paystubs and then go to neighboring country to get the stamping done. But if the current visa on passport is valid for some more time, I dont think its really needed to get visa from latest company. To my knowledge u can always use old stamp to travel, as long as you have the latest aproval petition and you carry with you,I may be wrong if somehting changed recently,

the intent of Green card is to hire an immigrant since they did not file any suitable US Citizen. If your company has received a number of resumes and they are suitable for your position, then I don't believe the company and for that matter even you should move forward. I would suggest wait for a while if that's possible, and conduct the PERM process again once the market improves.

Yes. Show Company-A unexpired H1-visa-stamp and Company-C H1-I797-Approval Notice at port of entry.
